A really interesting place to visit. The information boards provide a fascinating overview to Calne's history. There are also lots of maps and reference materials, if you are looking for something specific. Definitely worth a visit.
This small museum is packed with lots of local history. Here you can find out about Joseph Priestley, the man who discovered oxygen while living in Calne, or about the Harris company, a well known factory making bacon products - along with many other facets of the history of Calne.There are also a couple of exhibitions each year on different subjects, such a local pubs or Calne's twin towns. The current exhibition is on WWI in Wiltshire.There is disabled access to the building and toilet facilities. Entry is free and while I've visited many times and never been pressured to donate.Run by friendly volunteers, this heritage centre is worth a visit!

The Heritage Centre is a great place to visit, full of fantastic photographs and amazing information and has something for everyone. The building is amazing and is also available to hire as a venue, which is something of a hidden gem!
