I've not felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome for a long time. I felt like I'd stripped naked and was dancing a jiggly jig in front of my mother-in-law. Don't visit. Unless you like nude jigging.
It felt as friendly as walking into Castle Black and just as cold. We were welcomed with penetrating stares from the intimidating horseshoe of miserable middle aged men. The name of this pub is remarkably accurate because it was genuinely creepy. Avoid it. Unless of course you need repent for your sins and do your duty as a watcher on The Wall. Winter is Here.
Refurb under way. Sunday lunch is great but the building itself needs work. Will be much better when finished
Went for Sunday lunch. Quick service. Food plentiful and hot. A good selection of vegetables and good thick gravy. Waiting staff were friendly. The inside has had a lick of paint which looks nice. The new owners seem to be trying to bring the bug back to life. I wish them luck as it it could become a great pub again. We'll be back for a Sunday lunch for sure.
Had a lovely lunch today! A huge, reasonably priced Steak, mushroom and onion sandwich with more tender steak in it than anything else! Friendly service and the landlord checking everything was satisfactory! Will be going again next time I travel that way!
